I’m SO excited and ready to begin sharing all the things I’m currently loving with you on Fridays. I’ve always been a big fan of reading about what others keep in their bags, take with them while on the go, and just to have a closer look into people’s lives. I have so many ideas of what I’ll be sharing about in the coming weeks and months. To kick everything off, I just want to start by saying, you will only find products, clothing, and suggestions on things that I actually love and am enjoying. I only want to share about what I’ve actually found helpful and worth purchasing.
So without further ado, in today’s Friday Favorites post, I’m sharing with you my current makeup routine from start to finish. These are products that are well-loved and have been using most for well over a year. This post will also be one of my longest in this series because I have so much to say. 🙂
Before I put any makeup on, I start with a fresh face, and my routine with Beauty Counter’s Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion. This is so soothing to my skin and instantly makes me feel ready. Once I’ve moisturized, I use this jade roller and it’s literally blown me away at just how amazing it is. I’ve heard so many people share about using a jade roller but honestly thought it wouldn’t be necessary. After just a few seconds of using the jade roller each morning, my face feels so much more awake and just wish I would’ve added this into my routine sooner. If you are on the fence, it’s a must!
Foundations: I switch between two foundations and figured I’d share both.
I love using natural products as much as possible which I have found Beauty Counter to be the best for the coverage I’m desiring. Their Skin Twin foundation offers a beautiful medium to full coverage and feels lightweight on the skin. I personally am a full coverage girl after many years of skin troubles and so I’ve been very pleased with Beauty Counter’s skin twin.
The other foundation I’ll use is by Senegence and it’s their Makesense foundation mixed with their color correcting tinted moisturizer.
Concealers: When I use the Senegence foundation, I’ll use their color correcting concealer and when I’m using the Beauty Counter Foundation, I use their Skin Twin Creamy Concealer.
Bronzer: For Bronzer I use Beauty Counter’s All Over Bronzer in shade Dune.
Blush: I use Beauty Counter’s blush in shade guava.
Eyeshadow: The Classic eyeshadow palette from Beauty Counter has been my go-to palette for over a year now and I’ve been so impressed by their crafting of the tones. Typically when I’ve purchased an eye shadow palette in the past, I’ll really only care for 3 colors. I’ve literally used every single color in this one. They are just so fabulous and I can’t recommend this palette enough. They are long-lasting shadows as well. Years ago (when using different palettes) I would prime my eyelids but it’s just not necessary with this one. 🙂
Eyeliner: When I find makeup that I love, I tend to stick with it (unless we’re talking about my endless supply of love for lipsticks and glosses. 😉 Eyeliner on the other hand, I lean more towards, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. My all time favorite eyeliner is by Stila. Anytime I’ve branched out to try a different one, I always go back to my favorite BUT over the last year I decided to try one from the Sephora brand. It’s half the price, similar, and works great. It’s not quite as long lasting, but I’ve found it’s worth it.
Mascara: Currently I’m using mascara from Honest Beauty. A good, natural mascara is hard to come by but this one works great.
To set everything, I use the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray.
Lip Products: I believe a makeup look is not complete without a lip gloss or lipstick. I have plans to share another day on favorites because my list is long. 😉 At any given time you can find a makeup bag full of them in my purse, but I’m going to end this post by sharing two of my absolute favorites.
If you are looking for an everyday lipstick, the Sheer Genius Conditioning Lipstick will be your go-to. I cannot get enough of the shade Twig. It’s the perfect everyday color and even better…the scent is vanilla. The other lip product I just have to mention is Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb in shade Fenty Glow. It’s such a sweet lip gloss, not sticky AND smells like strawberries. Could anything be better?
